ReStart Client Terms of Use

Terms for people requesting and paying for services through ReStart

Effective date September 11, 2026
Document version 1.0

Purpose

These Terms explain ReStart’s role as a technology platform, the client’s responsibilities, the relationship with independent service providers, payment terms, safety rules, and account requirements.

1 Agreement and scope

These Client Terms of Use are an agreement between you and ReStart Connect LLC (“ReStart,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply when you create or use a client account, communicate through ReStart, request or book services, or use payment features.

By checking the acceptance box or using the platform after these Terms are presented, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and the Client Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use ReStart.

2 ReStart platform role

ReStart provides technology that helps clients locate, communicate with, and hire independent service providers. ReStart does not itself provide the services listed by providers unless ReStart expressly identifies a service as its own.

The provider and client enter into a direct agreement for the requested work. ReStart is not the provider’s employer, agent, partner, supervisor, contractor, or representative and does not control the manner or means by which a provider performs work.

3 Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to create a client account, request a provider, or authorize payment. A minor may not independently create an account, book a provider, or make a payment. A parent or legal guardian must control the account and supervise any permitted service involving a minor.

You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and promptly notify ReStart of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

4 Selecting and engaging providers

You are responsible for determining whether a provider is suitable for your needs. Any profile, rating, license, insurance, identity, or background information displayed by ReStart is informational. Unless ReStart expressly states otherwise, ReStart does not guarantee that this information is complete, current, accurate, or sufficient.

Before work begins, you and the provider should agree in writing on the scope, price, timing, materials, cancellation terms, refund terms, permits, warranties, and other material conditions. You should independently verify any license, insurance, permit, reference, or qualification relevant to the work.

5 Payments

Payments offered through ReStart are processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor. Each provider must maintain an eligible connected payment account. Where direct charges are used, the service payment is charged on the provider’s connected account and paid to that provider. ReStart supplies the technology used to initiate the transaction but does not perform the underlying service.

You authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the payment method you select for the amount you approve, including clearly disclosed taxes or fees. A provider may be identified as the merchant of record and may appear on your receipt or card statement.

The provider is responsible for the provider’s service-related cancellation, correction, warranty, and refund obligations. ReStart may facilitate communication or provide platform support but does not guarantee a refund. You may not submit a knowingly false or abusive payment dispute or chargeback.

6 User messages and content

You may send messages, photographs, documents, reviews, requests, and other content through ReStart. You retain responsibility for your content and represent that you have the right to submit it.

You authorize ReStart to host, transmit, reproduce, and process your content as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the platform; complete transactions; investigate complaints; and comply with law. Do not place passwords, Social Security numbers, full banking credentials, medical records, or government identification in ordinary messages unless ReStart supplies a designated secure process.

7 Blocking reporting and moderation

ReStart may provide tools to block users and report messages, profiles, listings, or conduct. Blocking may prevent future communications but may not erase transaction records, prior messages, safety reports, or information ReStart must retain.

ReStart may review reported or flagged content, restrict communications, preserve relevant records, suspend accounts, remove content, and cooperate with lawful authorities. ReStart does not promise to resolve every private disagreement and is not an emergency service. Call 911 when anyone faces immediate danger.

8 Prohibited conduct

You may not use ReStart to engage in or facilitate the following:

9 Service quality injuries and disputes

The independent provider is responsible for the legality, quality, safety, timing, completion, warranties, and results of the provider’s work and for injury, loss, or property damage caused by the provider. Report provider misconduct promptly through the app or to ReStart support.

ReStart may assist with communications or safety review, but ReStart is not required to inspect completed work, supervise providers, determine technical workmanship disputes, or pay claims owed by a provider.

10 Privacy and security

The Client Privacy Policy explains how ReStart collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects client information. ReStart uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and appropriate encryption at rest. No system is completely secure.

11 Suspension termination and deletion

ReStart may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account when reasonably necessary to address fraud, safety risks, legal requirements, nonpayment, abuse, or violations of these Terms. You may stop using ReStart and request account deletion as described in the Client Privacy Policy.

ReStart may retain information needed for completed transactions, disputes, fraud prevention, safety investigations, legal compliance, recordkeeping, and enforcement.

12 Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESTART PROVIDES THE PLATFORM “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” RESTART DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE AVAILABILITY, IDENTITY, QUALIFICATIONS, CONDUCT, QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, TIMELINESS, OR RESULTS OF AN INDEPENDENT PROVIDER OR SERVICE.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, obligation, right, or remedy that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

13 Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESTART CONNECT LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM PROVIDER SERVICES OR USER CONDUCT.

This section does not limit liability that applicable law prohibits ReStart from limiting, including liability based on ReStart’s own conduct where such a limitation is unenforceable.

14 Changes to these Terms

ReStart may update these Terms. ReStart will present material changes for acceptance or provide notice as required by law. The effective date and version number identify the terms accepted by each user.
